Tiny ones like me are products of selective breeding by humans for their amusement and pleasure.

I have never had anything to call home. It was so tiring.

I have had a number of travels throughout my life. I travelled all the way from Texas to Washington, then to Port Alberni and eventually to Crofton.

Though I never knew where I was travelling I always had a feeling that I was on my way to my paradise -- a place I could call home! And then, one day, I was brought to RASTA Sanctuary from Crofton. That changed my life!

I was fortunate twice, first I found a stable home, and then I found the love of my life. I met Toby here at RASTA- he, like me, was another miniature horse.  It was love at first sight and we were inseparable. Toby has passed on, but I’ve adopted a pair of goats - one of whom reminded me of a child that was taken from me, and now I spend my days out with them amongst my family here at the sanctuary. I am Dolly, an explorer and I'm a miniature horse.

The RASTA Sanctuary is one of only two farm sanctuaries on all of Vancouver Island and the need for our help is constant and great! If you see value in the work that we do, please consider making a donation to help support our efforts.

The RASTA Calendar 2020 is crafted with love by a total of 7 volunteers from 3 different organisations, RASTA, Mystic Lights, and Vyugam Business Consulting & Climate Emergency Solutions, who are experts in their area of work. We would like to take a moment to thank each one of them as well as the residents of RASTA for sharing their love and wisdom with all of us.
